It's really fascinating to consider how certain common birds that I see everyday in my backyard are so rare in other places! White-crowned sparrows visit my yard and ground feed almost everyday.

On the other hand, Cardinals are a common bird in the U.S., but I never see them because they don't make it to the west coast. I am always so jealous when I see beautiful pictures from others of bright red cardinals!

What is common in one place may be so rare in another. Thanks for the great article; I enjoyed reading it.

Hi Scott,
Interesting and attractive blog you have here!
The name White-Crowned Sparrow jumped at me, as we have one in England this year - very very unusual and it's attracted many birders.
You might be interested in this link:
http://www.independent.co.uk/environment/nature/no-privacy-for-whitecrowned-sparrow-on-rare-visit-to-britain-769242.html

All the best,
Steve
